Moral integrity is a complex and subtle ethical notion.
2.) Describe why Maximillian Kolbe is regarded as a Christian of exemplary moral integrity.
Maxillian Kolbe is regarded as a Christian of exemplary moral integrity because he has used his Moral Integrity and he has a mind with everyone having equal rights and no one with higher or lower heirachy than anyone else in.
3.) Outline Maximillians ethical actions/principles that he demonstrated in Auschwitz.
Maximillian demonstrated a few ethical actions. His main one was sparing his life and taking death for someone else. He also hid 2,000 Jews from Nazi persecution, July 1941 a man from Maximillian’s barracks was not found, having no choice the deputy camp commander went to pick 10 men from the same barracks to be starved to death in Block 13, in order to deter further escape attempts. One of the selected men cried out, lamenting his family, and Kolbe volunteered to take his place. When in jail he was the one who initiated the men into songs and prayer. Provided shelter during World War II in Poland.
4.) Evaluate whether you think he made the right decision and provide research to support your answer. i.e. Catholic teachings
I believe that Maximillian Kolbe made his decision to sacrifice his own life because he thought it was the right thing to do otherwise he would be in a dilemma. He was an aged priest whilst the man in captive was a young family man, the bible taught us about how Jesus Christ gave his life to save our sins for mankind and he must’ve thought it as a good deed. Kolbe gave his life to save the man so that he could some day go back to his family, and perhaps so he could comfort his other nine friends that were also sentenced to die and being aged he would rather save someone with life.
